Roslyn Hickson
IBM Australia Development Laboratory
Roslyn completed her Bachelor in Electrical Engineering through UNSW@ADFA in 2006. She completed a PhD in Applied Mathematics from UNSW Canberra in 2010, looking at times for diffusion and reaction diffusion processes through multilayered materials.
Following these studies she was a Research Fellow at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health, at the Australian National University from May 2010 to November 2011. The focus of her research changed to developing mathematical models of infectious diseases to inform control strategies and policy. This was followed by a University of Newcastle Postdoctoral Fellowship from December 2011 until April 2014, continuing the infectious diseases research.
Roslyn joined IBM Research Australia in May 2014. Her research interests are mathematical modelling of physical processes, particularly applied to natural resources and health care.
