Peter Baxter

Peter Baxter is a conservation modeller, educated at Trinity College Dublin (B.A. Mod.) and the University of California-Berkeley (Ph.D.), as well as the Institute of Actuaries Dip.Act.Tech.). After postdoctoral research at the University of Melbourne and the University of Queensland (UQ), he was appointed as a lecturer in UQ’s Centre for Applications in Natural Resource Mathematics. His research uses simulation and optimisation to explore efficient ways of managing threatened, exploited and overabundant species. He is the conservation editor of Natural Resource Modeling and a board member of the Resource Modeling Association.
