Menkes Van Den Briel
NICTA
Menkes van den Briel is a member of the optimisation group at NICTA and an adjunct research fellow at the Australian National University. Menkes is an operations research scientist with a PhD in Industrial Engineering from Arizona State University.
His main research interests are in combinatorial optimisation, mathematical programming, and automated planning and scheduling. Menkes has worked in a variety of application areas including airlines, energy, transportation, mining and accounting.
His past work on airplane boarding was cited on the front page of The Wall Street Journal and in numerous other media including The New York Times, Wired, and Popular Mechanics.
